We're proud to be one of the first New York State wineries to be certified by the New York Wine and Grape Foundation as a sustainable vineyard.  

Here are some of the ways we're committed to sipping sustainably:

• Cover Crops: We plant cover crops between the vine rows. These crops help to suppress weeds, reduce erosion, and improve soil health. Cover crops also help to fix nitrogen in the soil, which reduces our need for synthetic fertilizers.

• Geothermal Heating and Cooling: Our facilities use geothermal heating and cooling systems. Geothermal energy is a renewable resource that helps us to reduce our reliance on fossil fuels.

• Waste Reduction and Recycling: We are committed to reducing waste and recycling whenever possible. We recycle glass bottles, cardboard, paper, and plastic. We also compost food scraps and yard waste.

• Wildlife Habitat: We maintain wildlife habitat areas on our property to provide homes for birds, bees, and other native creatures.

By implementing these sustainable practices, we are helping to protect the environment for future generations. We believe that sustainable grape growing is not only good for the environment, but it also produces higher quality wines.
