Winter is a great time of the year to visit the Finger Lakes wine region!
During the winter months, visitors receive more one on one time with staff because tasting rooms are much quieter. Sometimes the people working in the tasting rooms are owners, managers or a member of the production team (i.e. winemakers). Ask questions about Finger Lakes wine and learn why growing grapes and making wines here is different and extraordinary.
Many local hotels offer great deals (like a free night) during the winter months to encourage visitation. Stay on a Sunday or a weekday to get the best rates.
Finally, if you are looking to take advantage of winter in the Finger Lakes but don't enjoy typical snowy activities (ie. skiiing) join us for our annual Frost Fest weekend, a celebration of winter in the Finger Lakes! This sell out event features large scale ice sculptures and ice bars, music, local food, wine and beer tastings and signature Frost Fest drinks served through elegant ice luges. A huge fireworks display over the vineyard ends the evening with a bang!
